Soundwave Festival had it's first announcement for the return of the annual tour in 2013 & re-enforced the doubt in peoples heads from the issues surrounding SWRevolution earlier in the year that the organisers can still impress the public with a killer lineup proposed for next year!

There are some huge names, some of which have some might think are out-dated, but those who agree can stay at home....right?

Unfortunately with so many bands that I'd like to see always means I'll have to cull the list due to clashes, however my favourites from the 65 odd announced:
Slipknot, SOAD, ADTR, Limp Bizkit, Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Trivium, Coal Chamber (who of which are re-uniting for Soundwave!), Dillenger Escape Plan, Mastodon, Underoath, Hatebreed, Times Of Grace, CKY, Dragonforce, Hell Yeah & Chimaira.

With more still to be announced in the coming months.

It will be my 6th year shooting the event now after covering 3 in Sydney & what will be my 3rd now in Perth, I thought I'd do up a post showcasing some of the shots I've taken of the artists on previous tours to Australia.

Been so inactive lately, shows how old these photos are now...not many shows coming up for me this year. My fiancee and I are in the process of building a new house to start our new life here in Perth.

I have On The Bright Side Festival coming up next month, apart from that there is nothing confirmed.

Make Them Suffer supported A Day To Remember at there opening night in Australia. Will have to arrange to see these guys at their own local headline show, put on a solid show.

Calm (HA!) before the storm, Underoath warmed up the crowd before the headliners threw down.

The conditions were a lot harsher compared to ADTR's set, coloured magenta/reds with little to no white light which meant for harsh looking results & a lot of blown highlights.

Still got a few OK shots, though my previous experience shooting their headline set in Sydney was a lot easier.

A Perth sold out crowd packed The Astor and threw down for the opening night of the tour which has basically ebay scalp tickets left around the country.

Below is a preview of my shots from the night.

I first caught Karnivool by accident at the old Rollercoaster Festival in Mandurah years ago, not realising until they finished with Themata which I'd heard in a club in Sydney for a year not knowing who the band was. This was my third time seeing the band live & this time I was accepted to cover the show since moving to Perth last year & only attending as a punter for their headline show at Capitol.

Unfortunately the lighting was contrast heavy & had very little clears or front lighting to help me out. So below is a highlights bonanza from the few songs I shot before joining the crowd.

Fellow Perth tog & friend Court McAllister took a few snaps from the crowd after my allotted 3 songs, go check out her work!

Confirmed for A Day To Remember in May, awaiting approval for Disturbed/Trivium next week.

Keep an eye out.
