2011 marks the 5th year covering the national travelling metalfest which has rapidly grown since Deftones headlined Sydney Park in 2007 with 3 stages now totalling 6.

I thought I would do up a little entry as it is now coming up to my 5th anniversary covering the Soundwave Festival since it's torrential rain soaked inception at Sydney Park in 2007 where Deftones headlined, from there is has expanded probably beyond the organisers expectations in it's short life span. The festival now covers all major cities within Australia & has increased from it's 2 main stages + 1 metal stage to a total of 8 stages which span genres from rock, metal to punk & ska.

I'll be covering Perth 2011 at the newly announced venue of Claremont Showgrounds, my day is going to be shooting the following: Sevendust, Devildriver (again), Stone Sour, Murderdolls, Primus, Slash, Ill Nino, Slayer (again), 30STM, Rob Zombie, The Bronx, QOTSA & Iron Maiden...while trying to squeeze in any others at the time

Here are a selection of my favourite shots from Sydney 2007 - Perth 2010. I think it also shows how I've progressed as a photographer as such as well, the earlier pictures are more raw compared to the framing/composition of the shots from last year. Hopefully I can continue to cover the event for years to come

Finally decided to visit the zoo for my 4 year anniversary with my girlfriend. She has been keen to go ever since we arrived.

It was a rainy day so we had basically the park to ourselves, decided to take the camera along for some snaps - long time since I'd shot at a zoo.
