Last night our baby was victim to a gutless hit & run, I'll go back to the start explaining the cause: June 10th Perth had a wild wind storm which tore down our garage door, we've recently had it replaced however they then found a part of the motor had been damaged so the door was not 100% functional, you could open/close the door manually however should a gust of wind come through this would open the door for anyone to get in or out.

We arrived home from work as usual (the dogs kept down the side of the house during day because of garage issues), we let them out in to the backyard as we do every night, 3-4 minutes later we here a car heavily screech across the road followed by a sickening yelp, we both instantly knew what'd happened...the wind during the day had opened the garage door about a foot which was enough room for both of our dogs to get out. We ran outside to find Drama (above) our 7 month old baby girl crying in agony & limping over to us, by this stage a bus had pulled over to give us a helping hand. My first reaction was that she had been hit by the bus however it was revealed another unknown vehicle was the one to hit her & instantly took off.

Our other girl bolted in shock, unfortunately I could not keep up with her & after 10 minutes trying to get her back I had to return home as I knew Drama was in a bad state & I'm the only licence holder in the house. We then proceeded to try all local vets who were already closed, then had to make the 30-40 minute drive to Murdoch emergency room with Drama in the backseat barely breathing & bleeding from the mouth.

After an hour in the waiting room the vet on call advised the bad news that while she didn't appear to have any broken bones, she's had a large amount of bruising to her lungs which restricted her breathing & internal bleeding. She is currently dependent on oxygen due to breathing difficulties & unfortunately the injuries sustained are not something that can just be operated on. The only option we have is keeping her in to be monitored & the damage repair itself.

This is an extremely costly exercise & we have been given an extremely broad estimate of $3,000-$10,000 as they cannot predict if she is going to pull through at all. We have put a deposit down of $800 which is all we had, a further $700 will be paid today when my work money goes through for the week & an extremely amazing friend of ours has loaned us $1,500 to contribute to our bill.

This will still leave us short & extremely out of pocket, so at the moment I'm looking for ways to raise dollars to help us get through this & give her the best chance of survival.

I'm currently offering a print sale, anything in my portfolio that interests you can be bought. A lot of my work is music based so if that does not interest you, maybe a portrait session with your own pets is something that can be arranged (Perth metro only). For those with an upcoming wedding (anywhere in AU, flight costs additional) I'm willing to shoot your big day for the crazy price of $1,000!

Music Prints: check out a selection of my favourites HERE - there is a range from HIM to Slipknot to Parkway Drive all the way to the otherside of the spectrum Katy Perry to Celine Dion. To see all other bands/photos click HERE
